Duet for Horn and Marimba

Duet for Horn and Marimba was commissioned by my roommate Jackson Ward as a duet between our primary instruments. I wanted to explore a more playful sound that was representative of our friendship and bond over the last few years. The dialogue between Marimba and Horn is lighthearted, and the form is mostly continuous. The style goes from somewhat rigid, getting freer over time, and finally recapitulating the beginning.
